SCIcart is a unique online database designed to replace your laboratory's binder, clipboard or spreadsheets to create an organized and streamlined laboratory ordering system. |

Complement existing institutional ordering systems by having SCIcart organize order details for requested items into a quickly referenced summary for the designated purchasing agent.

SCIcart acts as a type of laboratory shopping cart for ordering supplies and equipment. All details about a particular item (i.e. catalogue number, typical order quantity, vendor, etc.) are stored in the database for recurrent use. |

When an order request is submitted from a user in the group, the application alerts the purchasing agent and organizes relevant information to assist them when they place the order. |

SCIcart has made my life much less hectic, that's for sure. Prior to using the system, our lab utilized the most basic form of ordering, the list. What a nightmare! We tried keeping spreadsheets, lists, binders, folders, you name it, but it was difficult to keep up with the changing needs of the lab. Since I'm the one placing orders, I was constantly running around to get more information from various people. Now, with the mere click of a button, I save time ordering because all the information I need is right at my fingertips. I even receive an email notifying me when someone places an order. It's a much simpler, more organized way of storing, placing, and processing orders. I can search when I've placed an order or search for a product alphabetically or by vendor.
